This season’s most popular haircuts, colour and styles for men explained

Are you rocking the latest in men’s hair fashion? Read on for details of this season’s most fashionable male hair trends, and how to sport them with style.

The Buzz Cut

Undoubtedly masculine, the buzz cut is not a new trend, but it remains as alive and popular as ever. Easy to achieve, easy to maintain and easy to style, this cut suits strong, square face shapes, but can be adjusted to balance out any face shape. If your face is relatively strong, you might opt for a uniform length cut. A wider face shape suits the crew cut variation of the buzz cut, where the sides are slightly shorter in length than the top. To style, simply use a small amount of styling paste/creme and off you go.

The Slick Back

Made famous on screen by Jimmy Darmody in Boardwalk Empire, this style is full of shine and contrast. Just as the name suggests, there is a significant amount of length at the top of the head to slick back, achievable using gel or pomade to hold in place for prolonged periods. Easier to maintain than you might assume, it’s the perfect summer style as it both protects your scalp from sun exposure and keeps your hair off your face. This style is trending with a tight fading that wraps around the sides and back of the head.

Disconnected Sides

Like the slick back but without the slick, this style has a drastic fade around the sides, while the top is left with slightly contrasting length. This contemporary and edgy style can be adjusted by having a skin fade around the edges, and varying the degree of length you want left at the top to produce an interesting overall shape.

Platinum Blond

Like the slick back but without the slick, this style has a drastic fade around the sides, while the top is left with slightly contrasting length. This contemporary and edgy style can be adjusted by having a skin fade around the edges, and varying the degree of length you want left at the top to produce an interesting overall shape.
